STAFF INVOLVEMENT IN THE COMMUNITY R. John Jones- Santa Rosa Sunrise Rotary Club- John has been active in Rotary International for the past 29 years. Part of John's time with the Sunrise Rotary Club is spent organizing the international eye care projects. To date he has been on seven eye care trips, including missions to Mexico, Haiti, Guatemala, Samoa, Vietnam and twice to Nicaragua. Awarded Rotarian of the year by his Club in 2000 and a District 5130 award in 2003 for International Service. John is also the past president of the Rohnert Park-Cotati Rotary Club. www.santarosasunriserotary.org St. Mark Lutheran Church- John has been on the Board of Elders and a Lay Minister at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Santa Rosa for over 20 years. He also is a frequent Bible study teacher on Sunday mornings. www.stmarklc.org Board of Directors, Haiti Lutheran Ministry- John has been actively involved with the HLM for the past ten years and has traveled to Haiti numerous times to deliver aid and counsel to the various churches in the country. www.haitimissions.org San Juan Relief- John has participated and led numerous trips to the San Juan River region of Nicaragua. Examing over 3,000 villagers and distributing over 2,500 pairs of prescription eye glasses. These missions have been accomplished with the assistance of the staff of San Juan Rio Relief. John now serves on the Board of Directors. www.sanjuanriorelief.org Cecil Humes- Santa Rosa Rotary Club- He has served as the rotary treasurer for the past 3 years. He has also held other offices in the rotary club such as past president. Sonoma County Diabetes Society- Cecil has been involved with the local Diabetes Society in Sonoma County for more than 10 years. Tim Delaney-Rincon Eagle Foundation-Treasurer- Tim has been involved with the REF since it was set up in 2002. It helps raise funds for scholarships, tuition and other financial needs for the Rincon Valley Christian School. Sonoma County Airport Commission-Commissioner- Tim was appointed by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors in 2006 to serve on the Commission. Its purpose is to provide input and guidance to the Board of Supervisors on airport related issues. Pacific Coast Air Museum-Controller- Tim was appointed controller of the Museum in 2009. His involvement as the controller is to assist the Museum’s Board of Directors with various long-range financial planning issues for the Museum. Mike Musson- Board of Directors, Rural California Broadcasting Corporation - Community involvement for Mike includes serving on the board of directors of Rural California Broadcasting Corporation (better known as KRCB television and radio). KRCB television is the local PBS affiliate bringing well-known favorites like, Sesame Street, NOVA, Masterpiece Theater, etc. Radio broadcasts NPR offerings such as Morning Edition, and All Things Considered, as well as wonderful local programming. Santa Rosa Rotary East- Mike has been an active member of the Santa Rosa Rotary East club for the last three years. Carl Oblad- Redwood Empire Remodelers Association and the Redwood Empire Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants- Carl Oblad is an active member of both of these organizations. Lynn Riepenhoff- Treasurer, Soroptimist International. Lynn is involved in community service through membership in Soroptimist International of Santa Rosa, an international service organization for professional & business women whose goals are to "raise the status of women and children" worldwide. She is also involved in other volunteer projects as well. Charity Heasler- Sunrise Rotary Club- She has spent the past 4 years volunteering with the Rotary Club and optometrist Les Shipley as they delivered eye glasses throughout the world, including countries such as Samoa, Nicaragua and Mexico. Bridget Mendoza- Steele Lane School Arts Foundation- Bridget is currently a member of the steering committee for Steele Lane School Arts Foundation, acting as a fundraising and assembly coordinator. She has also participated in the firm eye care relief projects in Nicaragua. Christi Valencia- Windsor Rotary Club- Christi is an active member of the Windsor Rotary club. Darlene Hawley- Sebastopol Sunrise Rotary Club- Darlene is part of the Sebastopol Sunrise Rotary club. She has also participated in the firm eye care relief projects in Nicaragua. Buffi Frazier- YWCA of Sonoma County - Buffi is part of YWCA of Sonoma County - Finance Committee Member. St. Mark Lutheran Church- Board of Stewardship Member Chris Jones- Santa Rosa Young Professionals Network- Chris is an active member in the Santa Rosa Young Professionals Network. Preventive Diabetic Footcare Alliance- He also donates time to the Preventive Diabetic Footcare Alliance and has particpated in two previous eye care projects in rural Mexico and Nicaragua. |
